Art and Museums
· The Canyon Road area is a center of high-end art and sculpture
· Along the square downtown, more art and shopping, including Native American artisans
· On Museum Hill (a mile from the Casita) is the Museum of International Folk Art (https://www.moifa.org/), The Museum of Indian Arts & Culture, The Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian and The Museum of Spanish Colonial Art.
· Georgia O’Keefe museum, downtown (get reservations in advance – it fills up quickly)
Hiking
Santa Fe has a wealth of hiking opportunities (e.g., the Dale Ball trail system in the foothills and along the arroyos). In addition, there is excellent hiking in the desert and mountains nearby (see below).
· Sun Mountain. 1.6-mile roundtrip up a 700-foot hill, 1 mile from the Casita, great views.
· Atalaya Mountain. 6.2 roundtrip hike, 1800 ft. elevation gain, beginning at St. John’s College (2 miles from the Casita), excellent views.

· Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge (2 ¾ hours south of Santa Fe). Spectacular birding, massive snow geese and sand hill crane flocks in winter.

· Jornada del Muerto – 1-hour drive on section of historic El Camino de Real de Tierra Adentro, on Country Road A-13, between Engle, NM (30 minutes east of Truth or Consequences) to Rincon (40 minutes north of Las Cruces) https://www.nps.gov/elca/planyourvisit/jornada-del-muerto.htm.
